Question about ranked borders

I'm just trying to get a quick memory boost, I don't recall how it works. IF I recall correctly, normal matches in Summoner's Rift show the HIGHEST rank border attained through ANY queue type, correct? Meaning if your highest rank was in 5v5s, it'll show that ranked border, if it was in 3v3, it'll show that one, and if in solo queue, it'll show that one? I know how it works for ranked games, but I can't remember how normal matches go about it. Thanks!~

You're talking about that silver-ish/gold-ish/plat-ish border lining during champion loading screen before the match starts?

I think it would show nontheless what kind of queue you're going.

No, that's not how it works. Summoners rift shows your highest rank on that map (ranked solo queue or ranked 5s), Twisted Treeline shows your highest rank on that map (ranked 3s), and ARAM, Dominion and Custom games show your highest rank from any mode.
