False Reports

I had an interesting situation. I was playing a game with a duo I was not expecting. I wont list names but the situation was this. One of the players,(twitch) started character select with yelling at players for choice of character and continued to berate his support and top for every choice they made. This caused those two to go afk(A sad event alas). Now I have seen this situation before . People rage it happens...but the 2nd part of the plan goes like so... the other player,(nidalee) starts to tell the other team that I am saying racial slurs and berating my team. Note I have said nothing so far. Nidalee and twitch continue saying this until the game ends. This concludes with a loss(Alas it happens) and the entire other team reporting me. Now I understand that this report wont matter much(I don't have a tendency to do this so one wrong report is meaningless) but it does bring up concerns. How do I determine who is actually being toxic on the enemy team? How do I protect myself against this(so that the automated system doesn't do anything)? With everyone reporting me and only one person reporting them they are probably rated lower on the automated system of reports...so how do we report them accurately?

At a minimum it would be nice if they added a way for everyone to see what was said in chat during the game so that people can more accurately determine the cause.

Thoughts?

I want to focus on answering your questions, rather than addressing the specific situation:

How do I determine who is actually being toxic on the enemy team?

If you don't see toxicity from the enemy team (for example, in all-chat or cases of intentional feeding/griefing), there is no real way to determine that. Because of that, I highly recommend that players only report players when they witness toxicity from that player. This helps ensure that your reports are accurate, and thus don't lose weight.

How do I protect myself against this(so that the automated system doesn't do anything)?

If you are not demonstrating toxicity, and have not previously been chat restricted, you have nothing to worry about. Reports do not lead to punishments, they lead to reviews, and the system is not nearly so automated as it may seem. It utilizes a sophisticated chat detection algorithm to determine actual toxicity levels, and issues (or does not issue) chat restrictions based on that. All bans are reviewed manually, without any form of automation beyond the report system's case-building.

With everyone reporting me and only one person reporting them they are probably rated lower on the automated system of reports...so how do we report them accurately?

Cases are built against an account based on the number of reported games, not the number of reports per game. This means that, for the purpose of case-building, 1 report in a game is the same as 9.

Additionally, reports are weighted based on the historical validity of the reporting player. Reports from players who are highly accurate with their reporting are valued higher by the system than those from players who commonly issue false reports.
