Leaverbuster needs more options for leaving.

Leaverbuster assumes that you're afk when you stand still for a bit but it doesn't think about important things like:

From what I understand, it use to flag you if you stayed idle for to long. People were using point and click macros to afk but not get flagged by leave buster. Now it seems you get flagged if you don't get an exp in a certain amount of time. I figured that out when my team told me to guard base while they cleared lanes and jungle. Game ended and I Got a leave buster warning because even though I was running circles around the base guarding inhibs while my team pushed lanes, I wasn't in range of any minions to get exp in a certain amount of time.

So ya it's flawed, then it doesn't take into account if you get a bug splat client crash, computer freezes up, internet goes out, emergency comes up, server issues, or just plain lagg. I mean honestly it is really flawed but it's been complained about for a long time with hundreds of posts but Riot doesn't seem to care.

You've gotta admit that 99% of players that run laps around their base for 5+ minutes are just trying to AFK while not "really" being AFK.

Riot's gotta walk a fine line here. Blanket forgiveness for crashes/Internet outages would provide an obvious way for people to disconnect whenever they want with no punishment. Riot cannot reliably determine if your ISP is having an issue or you yanked the Ethernet cable out of your PC. And it's easy to force a program to exception or crash on demand.

They give enough lenience that the vast majority of players don't get banned for an occasional emergency. If you regularly have "emergencies" often enough to get in trouble with LeaverBuster, they're not really "emergencies".

And they do take server issues into account. If there's enough of an issue that they disable Ranked, or there's a notice in the client that they are investigating problems, LeaverBuster is turned off.

It's a game, no other game punishes like league does for leaving a game, afking, calling someone stupid etc. Yet they do fine.. This game punishes you for everything and it has the most toxic community.

Name a MOBA that doesn't punish for leaving/AFKing. Sometimes there are exceptions, such as DOTA2 letting you leave if one of your teammates has already DCed for a while. But I'm not aware of any that will just let you abandon matches at will or have a PC that crashes all the time with no punishment.

Riot's on the strict end in terms of behavior towards other players for sure. But plenty of online games (for instance, pretty much any MMORPG) will penalize you for being a huge jerk or abusing the chat system.

You just said it.. Dota 2 let's you leave if one of your team mates afks.. yet you can't. You have to sit in a 20 to at least 45 minute match that more then likely you will lose or else get punished for it. There are also Mobas that account for game/client issue problems that League doesn't.. And the punishments are not suspensions in other Mobas, basically a slap on the wrist.

Also wrong, Tons of MMORPGs fo not penalize you for being a huge jerk or abusing the chat system. World of warcraft comes to mind off hand. You can call someone a moron, an idiot, leave a raid in the middle etc and not be punished. WoW is less toxic then league.

It's a dictatorship basically saying , you play how we want, you say what we want you to say of you are suspended/banned and we will take your money while we do it. Meanwhile the toxicity in this game continues to grow now get better cause of it.

You also can't surrender in DOTA2, sometimes forcing you to stay in a game with abusive teammates or where your opponents are spawn camping you.

I'm not saying it's perfect. I would love to see Riot add an "early surrender" option if you have a teammate that disconnects for 5-10 minutes, for instance.

Please name a MOBA that allows you to disconnect or crash out of games at will with no consequences. I am not aware of any.

Low priority queue in DOTA2 or SMITE is not exactly a pleasant experience.

You can certainly get in trouble in WoW for abusing messaging features, spamming in global chat, etc.

Leaving a premade group does not get you in trouble with Blizzard, but there are disincentives to do so (guilds won't want to deal with you), and the group can substitute someone else in for you (so it's not as bad for everyone else as abandoning during a MOBA match). I'm pretty sure that abandoning Dungeon/Raid Finder groups or matchmade battlegrounds has consequences -- maybe not account bans, but you will be blocked from using those features if you abuse them.

Seems to me like basically the only rules are "don't be a huge jerk" and "don't cause trouble for other players". If you don't like how Riot runs things, there are plenty of other games out there.

Didn't bother reading. You didn't say anything intelligent before so not wasting my time with that wall of text. Clearly your opinions are invalid.. all you have to do is google most toxic online game and all you are going to see is League of Legends for the most part.

You are allowed your own opinion, not your own facts.

The largest game will always be viewed as the most toxic. When WoW was King, people saw it as most toxic. When DotA was the biggest of its genre, it was the worst. If another game surpasses LoL, it will be the worst in peoples' eyes.

Sorry man, Riot doesn't care WHY something happens anymore. Intent is no longer important. Only the action matters. That's why I quit LoL. I can't support how far Riot's PB team has fallen.

Thank goodness the legal system doesn't work this way...
