My Acceptance into Bronze.
Honestly I don't know why I'm righting this. I suppose mostly because I'm bored, tired, and about to go to bed and this crossed my mind.
I started playing roughly about a year ago today and I have loved the game ever since. I started playing ranked matches about 6 months into the game and I started off in S4, it was a rough climb as I would sometimes make it up to S2 then just get a series of terrible games that would put me all the way back down into S5 but I learned so much more about the game and all its little mechanics. When I heard that Victorious Morgana was going to be this years Victory Skin I just HAD to get to Gold. Before finding this out however I'll mention quickly that Morgana is my absolute favorite champion and not because I play support. I literally (no joke) played Morgana Mid for 4 months straight. (Not including ARAM matches ofcourse.) I wanted to master it like no other. I know it's actually a pretty common pick/role but I just had to master it, master every possible match up and every mechanic I could. At this point I can confidently say I am EXTREMELY good at it, so I just HAD to have that skin. I pushed my self hard climbing from the depths of S5 all the way back up to S1. I was just on the edge of Gold 5 when the LCS ended. It was pretty devastating but honestly I got over it pretty quickly since I couldn't stand to play matches seeing others with the skin and not my self so I started playing other champs and other roles. I pretty much only played Mid or Sup till now. Admittedly I was one of those players that was kind of like "Mid only or feed" (Not literally but it was upsetting). But it really opened my eyes and I started to practice other champions and roles I never would have thought I could get into. I still avoid most AD Melee types with a passion but mostly because that kind of play style doesn't appeal to me in general.
But more to the point, unfortunately, when the season ended completely I was 96lp from my G5 promos and when I had to do placements the matches wen't so bad and I can promise a majority of them I did really well personally in but lots of feeding from other players and AFK/DC cost me 6 of those matches. I am now officially in Bronze1 for the first time and it was a huge mood killer. I noticed significant difference in the type of players I get stuck with and it's crazy. It's so hard to try to climb out or carry any match with people that are so bad, I mean this in an overall kind of way, not just skill, and don't get me wrong either I am no perfect player. Sometimes I make mistakes or get outplayed too but definitely not as much as some of the folks I have seen in Bronze. I am no pro and I will not even claim to be close to one and that's kind of why I'm writing this. I recently failed my promos into S5 and I had sort of an epiphany. I know most of the well known professionals didn't get that good quickly, or even in a year or two. I know most of them have been playing since the beginning of the game its self, so I'm going to stop worry about my rank and use this opportunity in Bronze to play with some of the worst people ever and I don't expect to make any significant change this year because I know that it could take me even a couple more years to pit my skills with some of the most talented folks in League. For this is the first game I have ever gotten competitive in a game and I really enjoy it, so I will make it my long term goal to hopefully become considered "professional" one day. But until then I will use this "Elo hell" to learn and grow stronger so I can emerge way better and ready to take on them higher ranks. So you know what, I'm happy to be in Bronze because it's going to be my ticket to Challenger and I don't care what any of you say.
Hope to see you on the fields of Justice! -A Prior of the Ori..
