Opening chests while owning every champ is severely disappointing
When Riot first announced hextech crafting I was pumped. FINALLY! A new way to earn accessories without breaking the bank (even though I have totally ravaged my bank account regardless). I have owned all the champs for quite a long time. I will say that when a new champ comes out its awesome to rr 3 shards into the brand new champ without having to dish out the 7800ip. But it is not awesome to only open chests and receive champ shards all the time. My past 5 chests have been 4 champ shards and a ward skin. And before that I got a skin shard for DJ Sona and Infernal Nasus which I already own...
I used to get skin shards and rr them into random skins but that soon became pointless. Instead of getting a skin for a champ I don't own one for it always seemed to give me a skin for a champ that I own a cool one for. Example, I bought Demon Vi and the next day rr 3 shards into Debonair Vi. So I stopped rr skin shards and started disenchanting them instead and now have accumulated 3,000 orange essence. Now I rarely get skin shards and when I do it is a badass skin that I already own. The system seems to hold me down every time I try to get up. Is it rigged on purpose to screw me over or is my luck just the absolute worst?
I go complete rage mode every time I open a chest into a champ shard, especially since you can freaking buy them. I have had some things come up in my life where I do not have spare money to spend on league. When Dark Star Thresh came out I wanted it so bad, but was broke. That same week I opened a chest with the shard in it. Brought tears to my eyes. Restored my faith in the system, but that feeling is fleeting to say the least.
Side note: I have opened double, maybe even triple the amount of chests as a friend of mine has and I have 1 gemstone while he has 3. Not trying to be greedy, but I totally am.
