Unable to chat in champ selection

Since the patch, I have been unable to chat in champ selection. I don't know if this is a bug or if I got some kind of chat restriction but am unaware... can anyone help me? Is there a way to know. I can chat normally during gameplay, but champ selection chat is important and i can't do it.thank you

Might be related, might not --

Apparently there's a glitch where if your clan doesn't have an official tag, you are unable to speak in champion select currently. If this is the case, either get a tag, or join a clan with a tag, and use their tag until it's fixed.
