Possible Ranking System Improvements [Discussion]

Playing a ranked game can be really scary. We can try our best to pit players of the same skill category together but it's just not enough. Here's an idea.

Even if you lose a game there should be an opportunity to NOT lose any LP if you did exceedingly well compared to everyone else. The reason behind this theory is to help protect players who actually carried their noob/troll team hard but still lost due to boosters, tilted teammates who decide to feed, people with internet problems, etc. Currently i'm in a losing streak even though I've been the one carrying the team in each of those games. I'm sure other people go through the same thing. Ranking an individual player in a team based game of FIVE people (4 excluding yourself) is hardly fair. Maybe if it was 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3. Maybe if we introduced an MVP (Most Valuable Player) in each game, that player could get the benefit of not losing as much LP as they normally would because they stood out from everyone else in the game regardless if he or she lost. (This could probably reduce the number of players giving up easily in Solo Q)

Thoughts about this? Have other ideas?

The original thought behind Champion Mastery scores post game, when I first proposed the concept more than 4 years ago, was that your end game score would reflect your individual performance and be used to manipulate MMR and LP gains based on the score received. Riot decided to only implement half of that system, without the functionality aspect, and sadly we still use a system of raking individuals that takes into account no individual skill metrics of any sort.

I think you should still lost LP for losing a game. Just not as much. Like, for example, if you play a ranked game, and you lose. Now during that ranked game, if you aren't toxic, or afk, or any other punishable offense, AND you surpassed the rest of your team's stats, then lose 1/2 lp, or gain and extra 50% LP on a win, that you carried like that. I also have a lot of those games where I carry four people, who don't even try. They'll just sit at base and type, or solo baron at lvl 10. Something like that. So, it'd be nice, when you're in those games, to be able to reassure yourself. Like "Yeah, i'm screwed this game, because dude has run down mid 23 times, BUT I can still try and save myself. Ya know?

I don't like the idea of one player getting special privileges due to playing above their teams level but i would love an anti troll LP saver in ranked.
