Do not buy the Thresh Statue from the Riot store.

It is a great figure. Looks amazing. However, the packaging for it is horrible. It is not secure in the box at all. It poked several holes in the box from not being secure and came with a broken arm. I have contacted the store in hopes that they will fix the problem with their packaging, but until then I warn everyone not to buy the figure. I love riot and I hope this problem will be fixed shortly. http://imgur.com/ov4UYyH I was able to fix the figure with some super glue and it was on a joint so it does not look noticeable but if you are thinking about buying the figure I would hold off.

If you think any statue can be made to handle the abuse that shipping companies put on packages, you've got a wrong look on life. The packing of said statues however does make a difference.

Just throwing this out there- although its partially the store's fault, you do need to keep in mind that they will go through a warehouse, and as I currently work for and have worked for warehouses for years, "fragile" just means "dont drop it as far" to us. We dont have the time to carefully pick up and place every box. Its not possible :b

I have firsthand experience working with UPS and all i can say is please talk to Riot about packaging. If OP's claims are correct then Riot's in for a world of hurt. All shipping companies are VERY ROUGH(read they literally THROW PACKAGES AROUND) with packages and your thresh's will get broken VERY frequently if they aren't wrapped securely and kept from jostling around. The Fragile stamp means literally nothing to every shipping company in existence.

Unfortunately, this is 100% true. I've worked for several different companies that shipped products with UPS, FedEx and the USPS (the regular post office). I can confirm from experience that Vanisher15 used the word "literally" with perfect accuracy... both FedEx and UPS actually THROW the packages into their trucks. I once caught a driver PUNTING our shipments like footballs into his truck.

My advice is to avoid the private shipping companies like UPS and FedEx, and just use the regular USPS instead.

I worked for DHL Germany and the most abuse packages take is not from the workers but from the automated system and shoots etc. I dont know how UPS works in the US, but at DHL packages were treated rather careful. That said, they do tumble down shoots, get crowded on conveyor belts and can get dropped. So its all in the packaging. ALWAYS!!! NEVER ASSUME YOUR CONTENT IS SAFE! Always extra pad your package to be on the safe side!!!

edit: Seems to me as Riot underestimated how much packages can suffer during shipment. But they are trying to make it right and are more than willing to compensate if something went wrong. Why is everyone here hating? I wish every customer supports response was as fast and positive as Riot's!

Kinda sad that you think every single Rioter works on the servers. Like really. They have so many people there. That'd be one cramped space if all were on one job. If they were all on servers, then nothing else would get done that also needs to be done. They have many teams and already have others working on it. If you put your cursor over his name, you'd clearly see that he's mostly on the Player Support part. Champ updates, new champs, servers are not his job.

I'm sorry to hear that it arrived broken too. We've made changes to the way Thresh is packed for shipping and that will hopefully address situations like this where the statue is damaged while on its way to players. Our player support team will be able to assist you in getting a new one. We'll also keep a close eye on this issue to ensure that the additional packaging is keeping Thresh protected during transit. Had the same issue. Quite disappointing and frustrating, especially because I didn't buy it for myself. Mine came with his left forearm broken off and half his right hand sheared off. Cleanly. Very odd, very frustrating. Riot support has agreed to get me back my money when I ship it back which is something, but now I'm out a gift unless the replacement I ordered arrives on time AND isn't broken. Grr. Arrgh.

I received mine perfectly fine, in fact, it came in mint condition with not a tiny scratch in sight. Although, I could have been one of the lucky few. I would not really blame Riot though, as it really is a Local Postal thing.

it's a little steep for my budget, I managed to get my groceries down to 10 bucks a week so I can afford fun stuff from time to time, but my spending limit is usually more around 40. any more than that and I risk something breaking on me and not having enough money to fix it or not enough for bills .__.

Just to give the other side of this, I also received a broken thresh statue with a few fingers missing.

The Riot team have been nothing but supportive of returning the product for a full refund, were clear that they are well aware of the issue with regards to packaging and that it has now been changed to try and resolve it.

Having a statue here, I have no doubt about the high quality of the statues, you just need to pick up the statue to feel the quality of workmanship and materials in the piece itself.

The fact is, shit happens. A statue like this is ultimately made of plastic and certain areas where it joins or narrows are weaker, and that's a risk with anything of an unusual shape during transport. I have no doubts about the quality of the piece and will be ordering another one once my free shipping label is sorted. Because it IS a good piece. This is their first physical store and the first piece theyve shipped, and the problem has been addressed. So immediately coming on here and bitching, which I could have chosen to do three weeks ago, is childish, pathetic and uncalled for.

Don't let a small percentage with a transport issue put you off what is otherwise a half go quality piece I consider well worth the price i paid.

While its nice that they are actually helping there are/were ways to help solve the problem before there would have been one! it seems to me like they were being cheap, and only waiting till there was a problem before actually fixing it, when im sure they knew full well of said problem! Again its nice they are actually fixing the problem, but what about people who are getting it as gift? I bought the Jinx figure for a friend for xmas that i bought early this month, and i wont be seeing said person till probably next month, or longer. now im worried because its all wrapped and reading stuff like this makes me think something is wrong with my package and i would think once he actually gets it it would be too late for a refund/replacement and even then he would still need to wait again to get a replacement, all of which should have been handled during production of the product. Im not trying to rile things up, but for the amount people are paying for especially for the Thresh Statue i would think they would take this a little more serious!

To be completely honest, I think the only problem with the package is that for a figure with very narrow areas and two outstretched arms, it was packaged in standard packaging within the box (so a formed plastic tray that kept it suspended in the middle of the space), and then the actual shipping box wasn't padded. So it could get knocked around a bit within the actual shipping container, as opposed to within the "Riot" box.

When I saw the packaging myself I didn't think it was badly packaged and was at a standard level I would expect. In hindsight it would probably have been safer to have it in a foam pad within the Riot box, but I consider that level of shipping consideration to be a fairly high level of product protection. It's a lovely thing to see but I don't EXPECT it every time I open something like this, because it's not generally necessary. For this one it appears it may be. Live and learn for them. I don't expect everyone to get it right first time, only that they put it right when it goes wrong, which they are doing.

I'm having the same problem. The fingers on the hand holding the hook broke, and arm holding the lantern broke off, too. I think these statues are breaking because the entire front side of the figure is not protected in the original packaging. The plastic only covers the back and sides. Packaging of this product was not well planned.
