LeaverBuster and Bugged Loading Screen - one's going to discipline me, because of the other.

I don't really leave games, let me make that clear right now - I occasionally have to, or get disconnected, but I always reconnect as soon as I can. When I do disconnect, it's always as a result of a technical difficulty. I'll explain that below; this is really just a preface to give a brief summary of the situation. Recently, I was warned about leaving games, despite having no control over the issues I'm encountering that force me to disconnect and reconnect, or leave and rejoin. There's not a thing I can do about these problems, and I'm going to get treated like someone who leaves games on purpose.

Now, about the issues; primarily, they're a problem arising at the pre-game loading screen.

  • About 10% of the time, I get some message about how it can't connect to the server. It tells me to check my firewall. My firewall is nonexistent. The only way I've found to fix this is to disconnect and reconnect. Sometimes it takes several attempts, up to and including rebooting the client entirely.

  • Earlier today, I got a LeaverBuster warning...on an ARAM game I could only join when everyone else on my team was level 8, the enemy team level 7. What kept me from joining? The loading screen froze. It displayed just fine up until a certain point - 44% on one teammate, 16% on another - and then...it stopped. I waited a while, and then, on a hunch, tried rebooting the client, insta-loaded into the game at level 5 (with, again, everyone else in the game levels 7 or 8). Finished the game, got the warning - without, of course, ever knowing that I'd actually loaded in, because the loading screen froze.

  • Also earlier today, my router crashed. Upon rebooting the router, the game did not reconnect, despite the message stating that it was attempting to. Guess what I had to do? Yep, leave and return, at which point everything worked just fine.

In short: It's not my fault I keep having to leave and rejoin. Should I just sit there, letting the game continue on without me, for better or for worse, while my team has to deal with a 4v5? After that warning, that's what I'm going to do, because the alternative is to get punished for something I have no control over.

Exactly. Happened to me yesterday. I was connecting but then it stopped. Went to desktop page that said "Your internet has been disconnected" even though I was clearly on and could see my friends being active.

I got ingame when my team was level 7 and managed to get the first clear done. Suffice to say, we won the game. But then I had to write "I AGREE" even though I clearly did not leave the game.

If you have a problem, create a ticket with their support. It might take a couple of days for them to get to you, but their support department is VERY good at finding the problem with your game. I went back and forth checking 20 some odd things with them before I found the problem, and they helped me every step of the way. So do that.

If you keep playing with this problem and are a detriment to your team, you should stop playing until you fix the problem. If you keep playing, then yeah, leaverbuster will get you, and it should.
