Do champion masteries defeat the purpose of having a high elo account?

Since the release of champion masteries when it was just rank 5 I've been only interested in getting my favorite champions to mastery 5 rather than playing ranked.

With the inclusion of rank 7 masteries which encourage you to get S- or higher for rank 6. To S/S+ for rank 7 and depending on what champion and role your playing it can take a while to get that 7 rank mastery.

Thing is in normals I've seen more boosted daimuado ranked monkeys than rank 7 champion players.

Yes! The word "Daimando" is my cheeky way of labeling a boosted diamond player.

I've seen people in chat or just in game mention or spam their mastery 7 shit because they want to be special showing off their main champion. Heck i have 4 champions at rank 7 like Rumble, Janna, Twitch, Blitzcrank. I love these champions but I don't spamming my gaming achievements in someone's face.

Speaking of achievements: Does anyone play Xbox or PS games for achievements or trophies anymore? they are just scores for games that you really enjoyed or you just have way too much time on your hands.

I'm going to be honest if I do like a MOBA champion/god/hero, or a video game on steam or console then will play it alot but im not going to constantly spam these mastery/achievements in someone's face because nobody is going to care.

The players that spam mastery 7 the most from my games are the Yasuo players it doesn't matter what team they are on or what lane they are on I always see these players spam their mastery the most.

It doesn't help that Ranked Dynamic Queue sucks.

Can we have an option to just remove mastery spamming so people can just play a champion they just recently purchased or dust off a champion they haven't used in ages without some cocky player who just spams mastery 7.

We just want to play the game, we want to learn how to git gud with some other champions. Some people don't care if you main a champion they just want to experiment some stuff in an actual match.

I just find more people care about showing their champion mastery than getting elo in this game. You can also say getting elo isn't that great either... but i wont go into more detail about that on this thread since its already long enough already.

Do you think Champion Masteries are more important to you than elo?
