Here I have a screenshot of me getting Bronze V. You can see that I have won 8 games out of 10. In Season V my rank was Bronze IV, but can someone explain why i got lower rank even though i won 80% of my game in provisional.

beautiful boy1 votesAn inofficial formula for the reset is "Current Elo+1200/2" so that basically means Bronze 4 around 800+1200/2 means 1000 and then you play your placements. the first 2 games are raising your mmr quite a lot and the last 8 are not that important.

Bronze 4 is 300 mmr. I've been bronze 4 before. Bronze 3 is around 400-maybe 500, that's the highest I've been. I'm now bronze 5 with 100 mmr.
Horse Grenades1 votesUnfortunately no! :( The good news is that you will climb very fast with that placement score. You can do it! Focus on what you can control, cs, rotations, positioning, and the rank will follow

No. You shouldn't place lower if you were bronze.
The algorithm is (1200+your old mmr) /2.
So if you're bronze 4 with 300 mmr, you should actually place higher.
1500/2 = 750 = bronze 1 is where you should be if you go 5/5 in placements.

If you're in b5 you really should be given a bit of a free start in your climb, imo.
