league players with disabilities

HI everybody! i am looking for other players with disabilities who love to play league. i myself am legally blind with only 4 degrees of vision left (imagine only seeing about 2-3 square inches of your screen). i would love to meet and play with other people who enjoy playing, but feel that they get judged when they make mistakes that they dont intend to make. i would like to play with people in a salt free environment. any player who has a disability (people without are welcome but try to respect other players who have disabilities) please add me! win or lose lets just have fun!

This may come off as sounding dumb but if you're legally blind then, how does one even play League o=o, or is just like super blurry :S

He has a small window of vision but there is a certain point where you are classified as being legally blind while not being completely blind. For some people it's super blurry vision that can't be corrected enough with glasses and for others it's a limited area of vision.

theres no such thing as a dumb question, but yeah imagiine your on screen vision when you get blinded by grave's smoke screen. i only see that much on a 17 inch screen. my central vision is clear but at times it gets blurry for a short instance. and as for how one plays league, i need to be careful cuz while im laning and i need to check the minimap or whats around me or when i hear pings then i usually have to be in a safe distance since it takes me a few seconds to scan my screen.

im deaf so im not sure if that counts. but my biggest problem is hearing global sounds like kalista's ult and sion's ulti. something rito needs to fix is for those that have hearing probs to make things more obvious/clear.

No. Sion's ult has an audio cue that is triggered when used. Usually by the time someone types in chat, the engage would have happened, and no one would be able to reply etc since its a teamfight.

patience and planning. it doesnt work well all the time but mainly i just try to enjoy the game, try new things, and i genrally just play melee champs since ranged champs need too much peripheral viision to actually cs well and target people at a distance. its hard how to describe it as i started playing league 3 years ago, which was a year after my vision got noticably worse. if you have specific questions dont be afraid to ask id gladly answer them!

i only go near being toxic when i step on a teemo shroom after getting away froem a fight with less than 100 health but then i realize i shouldnt have kept running around in satans jungle in the first place.

I have MS among other things. Unfortunately, I decided to stop playing, or at least stop playing regularly just the other day (Not related to the MS, just kinda losing interest and tired of toxicity) Having stuff like that definitely makes the game a lot harder to play, but far from impossible (A lot of people seem to think otherwise). Well, I at least thought I might as well post here, since if I ever decide to play again I'd love to play with you. Maybe I'll give it a shot next weekend.

I would just like to say this post changed my view of League of Legends. I would get so frustrated when my teammates would feed like crazy with no regard that the team has to deal with it. It never occur to me that perhaps the summoner has some form of disability and is struggling to play. I will look at League differently now. Thank you for your post.

Legally blind is not the same as total blindness.

Legal blindness is a level of vision loss that has been legally defined to determine eligibility for benefits. The clinical diagnosis refers to a central visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with the best possible correction, and/or a visual field of 20 degrees or less.

Also there are computers for people who are totally blind so they could just as easily type and send something.

I am aware that legal blindness is not the same as total blindness, and I forgot about those types of computers, but with only being able to see a max of 3 square inches, I don't see how it would be possible for him to play this game.

You could argue that it's not a "disability". he suffers from DID

Honestly this is one of the coolest things I've seen on here in a while. Usually people with disabilities don't play games like this, but it's a really cool thing for those who do to be a part of. I can't be a part of it due to my limited time that I play League now, but I still want to say that I love what you're doing here.

You'd be surprised. There's a lot of us we just don't hold a sign up that says 'Hey everybody I'm disabled look at me!", same with girls.

Actually my husband and I both have disabilities...they're mental health ones, but still counts. I bet a lot more people with disabilities play the game than you know. :)

I've once worked with a guy who's completely deaf (nothing he could possibly hear, even the loudest things are only the vibrations they produce) and he played several video games, especially WoW and watched every single episode of One Piece there is (until now). There are lots of things one wouldn't expect, but they happen more often than you might think. Even I as a diabetic am asked lots of things because people wonder why I can eat this or that and how all that bloodsugar stuff works and they're surprised because of the things I can still do and eat (actually, it's almost everything, maybe not becoming policeman, pilot, busdriver or similar stuff (where I can easily put people in danger when having a way too low bloodsugar)).

Be open to people and you'll witness many things you thought were not possible for them.

yup! if you never ask a question youll never get an answer! im sure there are others out there who play but feel afraid to say when they are having a hard time or need additional help in game. im lucky to have some people that ping me like crazy when they see a gank coming or tell me to be safe if they saw something on the minimap near me. granted its not their responsibility but its a team game; teams should help each other.
