Bot Games vs PVP

I have been playing LoL for little while now and it is apparent I will never be very good at it. (poor reflexes: mental and psychical). I love the game and wish to continue playing but I have to get some things cleared up first. I have no desire to mess up anyone else's fun and can always go back to MMORPG's.

(1) is this game for serious people only or are casual players (read less skilled) welcome?

(2) I try to stay out of the PvP games because I know I am a liability; but sometimes my friends want me to join them. Should I not play PvP?

(3) I have caught a bit of crap from other players in bot games due to my lack of skill. My understanding was that bot games were for the less skilled and for the skilled to hone new champions. Do I have that wrong?

I know that all games, and game types, have immature players who loudly proclaim that trait to the world; but this is the only game I have ever played that has an actual competition level and thus the reason for the questions.

Constructive guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is definitely a place for less skilled players. You can certainly keep playing bots which is a good way to warm up with unfamiliar champions, but I see no reason why you can't play normals against people. The only area I'd recommend you stay clear of are Ranked matches. But if you're catching flak in bot games and normals for being less skilled, report those players. Negative attitude shouldn't go unreported.

  1. Everyone
  2. You should, but if you are so bad that you get raged at often, go with a team of 5 to start with
  3. No, those guys are just being jerks

Just play to have fun and mute the ragers. hope this helps :D

I consider myself a league of legends veteran (been playing since season 3) so i'll try and give some answers. I'm just a normal player and in no means am i saying i'm good at the game. You can consider this game for serious and casual players with the casual players just doing normals and the try hards playing ranked. If you want to play PvP or Co-Op is completely up to you. I personally like PvP as it is harder and there are the players that make the game not fun but it makes winning so much more satisfying and co-op just seems really boring. Finally the thing with match making is that it works on the average skill level of a player and TRIES to group them with players of the same skill level. So it doesn't matter if you play co-op or PvP you will usually get grouped with players of the same AVERAGE skill level. However do note that by queueing up with friends of higher skill levels you will have a higher chance of being placed with higher skilled opponents. And beware that if you do play by yourself that there are players who create new accounts just to kick the ass of new players (smurfs). I hope this helped you and have fun. ^^

Thank you for your replies. I was uncertain because it is a different kind of game for me. I will keep playing and thanks for the mute idea.
