Linux client: when??

We all know LoL, DotA and HoN have the same background but while DotA and HoN have Linux clients, LoL has not. If the three games share a common background how hard can it be??

To the ones that WILL come here and say 'the Linux market isn't worth it'..... STEAM is beting on Linux so, I don't think Linux is as small as some people think.

Anyway.... just wondering.

I made a post about this a while ago. It's been years. If Riot wanted a Linux client, they'd take some money and people and get that shit done. It might be the fact that AIR doesn't work on Linux anymore I think. Not sure, someone google that.

Now, I don't mind spending money on this game. Support the talented people at Riot? Mk. But every other computer I own is running Ubuntu or something of the like. And I HATE windows8/8.1/10. I mean, Windows 10 is usable... but damn, it is still crap. Really glad they gave it away for free because you're damn right I'm not spending money on it. Ubuntu, now... ohhh, Ubuntu. Ubuntu is amazing. Linux is amazing.

Maybe when Riot updates their client, we'll get a Linux version. But why do that when they could sell me more skins... BECAUSE YOU COULD ALSO BE SELLING SKINS TO PEOPLE ON LINUX.

You might as well suck it up and make the client now so I can install League on my laptops, Riot. I mean... plz?

If you're trying to say that these games share a common code base, you're sorely mistaken. One of the problems until now was that the PvP client is built on Adobe Air and that Adobe does not support Air on Linux. However, since Riot is in the process of building a new client, there's at least a chance for a Linux client in the future.

yeah, RITO, please pour a couple $100k into something <100 users will benefit from! (purposeful exaggeration, i know there are not that many linux users :P)

Same background but different code base.

Still, once they make the new client in Html5 / Css / Javascript, there's no reason that at the least, IT shouldn't be portable to linux so we can edit runes and masteries, and chat from our main desktops. Honestly, there's no reason why they couldn't offer a web-based client, particularly now that they're moving things like keybindings over to their servers; they could do the same with masteries.
