The mystery skin reward from the perspective of someone who will not be receiving one (Feedback )

I will not be receiving the mystery skin gift Riot gave out, but it's not for the reason everyone is going to assume.

I am a skin collector. Currently there are maybe 12 skins in the game I do not own (all but one of which are long since retired). As a result, I am not eligible for mystery gifts (you have to have at least 10 skins available in the store to receive them). I emailed Riot to see if in light of the fact I've spent a ton, that maybe they'd give me the one skin I don't have that would be eligible (Championship Shyvana), and was told that they would not. I was also told that I should leave feedback on the forums as that is how they wish to see these things done.

So here is my feedback Riot. I think things like this free mystery gift are an amazing idea. I think you rewarding players who help to make this game better is fantastic. I think penalizing people who have financially supported your company, while rewarding those who have potentially spent nothing is a mistake. While I get that this particular gift is a mystery skin, you have basically told me that despite me spending thousands on your product, I'm not worth taking care of as a loyal customer.

not trying to be rude, but you are a really really small minority. i would think something like this wouldnt bother you if you own basically every single skin you can buy. its not about taking it the wrong way just with the millions of players who play this game i would think there are probably less than a handful who fall in this category, and with that how else would they compensate you? since you own the skins you own the champions so that wont do, you obvious play a lot so runes are out of the question. there is basically nothing they can offer you.

they reward the people who pay with constant sales and discounts

they reward the people who arent toxic with small gifts.

if you dont spend money ever, you have maybe 5 skins. if you do spend money you probably have dozens.

think about every skin you've gotten on sale. they're essentially buy one get one free on sale. so how many free skins have you gotten?

i've spent over 600 dollars on this game and i have no complaints about people getting a free skin for staying positive.

I can see both sides of this, on one hand you have spent a lot of money to support them and assuming you meet the other criteria deserve some form of reward. On the other hand is the real reason Riot isn't going to do it: their coders and designers just aren't thinking of situations like this and the system isn't set up with a way for them to implement it. Their policy doesn't allow them to just unlock a specific skin for you or give you free RP, too much potential for abuse.

I love this game, but the people in charge of technical design are frankly in above their heads. I've been making detailed posts on their system flaws for years from the perspective of a senior level software developer with almost 15 years of online competitive game experience and it is shocking to me how little has changed in the few years I've been playing.

For the record, I'm not saying the coders or developers are garbage, they just as an entire unit lack the leadership and vision of someone like me with an attention to detail beyond the norm. I'd love to go to work for Riot and help lead this game to where it should be going, but I'm not ready to move to CA yet and when I do Santa Monica is the last place I want to live because of the absurd real estate.

They could have made a summoner icon.

I wonder how many people would have preferred this ? Would you have liked it better ?

I think you could have gotten this to go in your favor, but your post conveys a complaining type of tone. You really wanted to prove in your post that you have a positive attitude inside and outside the game. I think with a more postivie post, you could have gotten one of those really rare skins you are missing from your collection. All the same, good luck to you.
