Akali did get nerfed.. into the ground in fact. Please be better at the game and learn to buy pink wards, or an Oracle's Lens. Oracle's puts a temporary buff on you with the same effect as the old Oracle's Elixir, so you can still see invisible units in a short area around you. Akali isn't a threat any more compared to the top assassins like Katarina and Zed. Even Kassadin is better than Akali these days with AoE burst, actual survivability against AP's with his Q and Passive, and low and behold, an escape in his R, and with all of this, I still only use Kassadin as a counter pick any more.
The only assassin that currently needs "nerfed" is Zed, and even then, he blows a target up with his ulti and is done. If he's allowed to stay in sustained combat, your team is seriously doing something wrong.
