Is League of Legends slowly declining?

Over the past few days, I've been hearing quite a lot of people complaining that due to solo queue being removed, they will not be playing the game anymore. Because of this they then complain that League of Legends is a lost cause and dying, how Riot will kill League very soon if they keep this up. Is League of Legends really dying? I really love this game when I started back in late season 5, and would hate for it to become dead before I can get bored of it. Please, if you can, set me at ease and show me there is still hope.

League has such a large playerbase that even if it is gradually losing some players, it should be fine for quite a while.

It might be ever so slightly declining, but it's still huge. The couple dozen people that post threads about how they're gonna leave usually don't actually end up leaving, but even if they do, the numbers are so insignificant that it doesn't effect much. League isn't going away any time soon. They talked about the topic on beyond the rift, and even they were saying absolute minimum league has another 2-3 years of being as popular as it is today.

Yes, it is declining. It happens with every game. If people want real proof, just notice that queue times are becoming longer.

Its declining sure, but thats because a lot of other better games are released, such as Overwatch and other Blizzard games.

heck Even heroes of the storm is better than league .... they have an actual solo q

I don't have the numbers, but I do feel like there is some decline during season 6. They have actually removed one of the 4 game modes from the game showing that the playerbase has become really too small. Perhaps it has been too small for years and they finally cut the knot. Still, it's rather suspicious that it happens around the time where people are very unpleased. Queue times are a lot longer now, but that is also due to the nature of dynamic queue (new champion select) where support is an unwanted role and filling in ranked is foolish.

Will League die? Very unlikely. Maybe in 10 years, but it's still far from dying atm. It really depends on what you call dead. Is WOW dead? Is Runescape dead? They are certainly beyond their blooming periods, but a lot of people still play those games.

Believe me. Wrong thread title. People are sick of the general question you put to the thread and tend to automatically downvote without reading.
