I keep losing my tiny cursor at higher resolution

I've gone all the way down to 1600x900 just to be able to comfortably see my cursor. Even in 1920x1080 I lose my cursor in 2v2's sometimes. I'd love to run League is 4K but at that point I'd have better luck trying to play on a touchscreen than with my mouse. I had someone show me a tutorial (that I didn't try) to manually change your mouse size in the game files. If it's really that easy why not put the option in the game?
