What happened to lore?

The lore on champion profiles used to be pages long, now it's barely a couple sentences. i love that we're getting these videos and stuff, like for Tahm Kench and Ekko, but what about lore? Nd why is it being changed to drastically? The new Graves lore coming with the Bilgewater event doesn't even talk about Twisted Fate. There are some serious problems with lore, and it makes me very sad.
