Suggestion: Have Sunfire Cape a toggle

Kirby Hunter··7 votes·718 views

I main Renekton and Shen top lane, and Sunfire is a core build to pushing my lane. However the down side to rushing a Sunfire is that if I want to actually get the tower and the enemy is right there, the Sunfire will make me get agro. I rather have the option of having my Sunfire cape and toggle it off when I’m attacking towers. It’s not just in laning phase, even late game if anyone tries to poke down the tower with their Sunfire there is always a risk. Please make Sunfire Cape a toggle. Thank you

Running in and getting hit by the sunfire capes AoE is part of the game. It's like stepping on a Caitlyn trap when she's close enough to turret. I think the item should remain unchanged.

i think it's better to have sunfire as it is. gives the item a built in counter.

That would be pretty nice? There would be no downside to buying a Sunfire Cape, though. No risk at all, period. I am curious to hear the discussion on this...

Edit: The main risk when you buy SC is that you aggro turret when you are next to an enemy / Baron when you stand close to it. That built-in counter is there to balance out the pure tankiness you get from it. IMO, if the item is changed to become a toggle active, then you need to adjust cost accordingly.

True. Since this would make Sunfire Cape better, it would be a buff, and since it's already a good item, there would need to be a cost/stat change to match.

The downside the buying SC is that you pay gold for it.

If we're not counting that as a downside, you could argue 90% of items in the game are OP. The only other item to have a downside beside gold is Tiamat/Ravenous Hydra.

Except that has always been a known way to counter, changing that is a buff...

The risk is spending money on a mid-game item. Its not really that effecient.

That's an awesome idea just like in dota, you can turn on/off some of your item make it better. hehe :3

I agree that this would be a beneficial change. Some top laners like Garen have a low skill cap making them good for beginners, viable in mid level play, but unseen at high levels of play. Adding a few skillshots would make them a little more viable but would change their gameplay significantly. Having an extra toggle to remember to turn off at the right time, and back on at the right time (imagine how mad at yourself you'll be when your team dies in teamfight and you realize you had your Sunfire turned off ha!) would add just a tiny bit possibility of skill play for them.

If it really needs a slight cost increase to balance it, so be it. I don't think it needs it, but whatever.

you know when in dota they have the item similar to firecape called radian; people can go invisible and turn the item off... it should apply the same thing for lol.

I think that sunfire really just needs to not aggro jungle monsters. It's not like anyone will stand next to a camp for 3 minutes while there sunfire cape just kills it... waste of time. I really think this should be put in effect.
