[Discussion & Poll] Self-created Icons for Ranked Teams

I know this is a long debate and discussion that had started long ago. But hey, it's Finals tomorrow and I thought we could bring up this issue again. For tournament teams, of course, they get to have their team icons on their ranked team profile, but I still think it will be a good idea for other ranked team players like us to have self-created team icons to be uploaded to represent our teams.

Reason why I think Icons for ranked teams are important is because it acts symbolizes teamwork and cooperation. Like a school uniform, you will have your school's badge on your shirt because you are proud of it; you want people know you are student of that school. Well basically, it's the same for ranked teams. We wanted to show to our opponents that we are proud of our teams, and our logos (how we designed it)expressed that on behalf for us.

And I know, if this is allowed for every ranked teams that is created, it would cause the Riot server to overload with uploaded images very quickly. Because not all created ranked teams are active. And here is what I suggest that can balance out the situation:

1.) Seeded Teams - Perhaps only seeded teams (after 5 games of ranked team placement)and currently active teams are allowed. However, this is still a majority of the population so Riot servers might still be heavily loaded.

2.) Certain Division of Teams - Now this is kind of a achievements for ranked teams, for example, like ranked teams reached the Gold Division after several ranked team games unlock the ability to upload self-created Team Icon to represent their teams. This will then lower the number of teams that would actually meet the criteria. Maybe...

3.) Purchase with RP - For this option, probably the least the summoners would like to choose, actually benefited Riots and at the same time unlocked this ability for those who really wants it. But if one day Riots decided that this option can go out for free, those who have previously paid for it will think oh well, that's so unfair! So on a long run, we will have to see if this will go free in the future; if it does, I don't think purchasing with RP is a good option here.

4.) What's your view!? - Share your thoughts! I would really love to see the discussion going because, hey, who knows one day some Rioters came across the thread and say "Yeah, we will do it!" So post your choice and comments! Let the world know your thoughts! Let Rioters know what we want!

I think it would be neat, but I also don't find it necessary. A team can just coordinate and pick all the same icon if they really want to. Or they don't have to.

One of the fears I would have (and assume Riot would carry the same concern), would be keeping icons appropriate. Heck, ranked team names already get away with fairly offensive stuff, and there's really not a good way to report for that. For the icons, sure, maybe you could add a report option for 'inappropriate icon', but there are far too many players and far too few Rioters to enforce it effectively.

Honestly, I feel like risks and potential additional measures that would need to be put forth to make sure things stay classy far outweigh the benefits of letting teams do this.
