Runes

What will happen to the current Runes when the new system is applied to the main server? I mean after all we spent a lot of time playing League in order to get tons of ip just for Runes. Will we get a refund or we just start with a fresh start not getting back for all our efforts just to buy those. I'm very curious what will riot do about this?
