Started as basically a self-insert in a Star Wars fanfic, then I started using it in chatrooms and eventually became my go-to for an IGN. Been using it... almost 20 years, now.

Well my name dates back when I did LARP events. I was writting a text about my character which was a bard and came up with that name.

If you want more insight on it, it's a name (Carl/Karl) matched up with an instrument (Lyre (basically a type of harp in French))

I thought it was a nice, generic username. Every time someone comments on it (which is legit every fucking game) I die a little inside.

Initials Initials Birth-year, I made it when I was little, always planned to change it to something more creative when I got inspired.

Still waiting :|

My Name kinda evolved.

My real name translates to basement, So I named myself DungeonKeeper. later shortened it to DuKe,

But that's not unique enough, and I hate numbered names for Characters so I ended up with Dukan and later Dukanax.

Now im to Duke Anax. I consider that Duke a first name, not a title btw.

In grade 10 history i heard the name of an ancient ruler, and thought, "What a cool sounding name." "TheDeadly" was added because Sargon sounded too simple or something, I can't really remember.

Wanting a badass name which involved a sort of title for demi-god being.

Simple explanation of who I am.

Dreddeth3/9/2015, 10:52:24 PM1 votes

Eh. I've been using the name of the first named antagonist I ever wrote as an alias since middle school, simply because it's easy to remember/pronounce/write, and also because it's pretty much never taken.

On the subject of its origin, it's a crappy portmanteau of "dread" and "death." I was angsty and volatile back then.

Now, though, it's more like ironic or self-deprecating humor.

I've an eye condition that makes me extremely averse to sunlight, and A Link to the Past happens to have been my favorite Zelda game. Pretty easy choice.

Levyathyn3/9/2015, 10:53:43 AM1 votes

An intentional misspelling of 'Leviathan' taken from the Hebrew symbols representing it, LVTYN, or sometimes LVThYN. I used it as the name of my favorite space ship in a Star Wars d6 game, and it stuck when I ended up using it. A very nerdy, nerdy name, on many levels.

Eleshakai3/9/2015, 12:49:01 PM1 votes

It dates back to the WoW days. I rerolled as a Draenei and was trying to create a name that would fit the character I was trying to create... and the Draenei have a unique sort of sound to their names so I spent a while thinking and came up with 'Eleshakai'.

I ended up liking it so much that it's become one of my go-to names for most purposes.

I've always been very mischievous, and when I was playing D&D with friends, a fortune teller once said my Aura had been Darkened with evil. I immediately took that as my title, The Aura of Darkness. I've since taken that as my Go-To because it sounds really, really cool.

I've had total of 4 different summoner names (including this one) so I'll just explain them all o^o

  1. Moonpaws > I used to call my Night Elf female Hunter Moonpaws when I still played WoW and after I quit I felt like having the name somewhere to remind me of the awesome game that I loved so much.
  2. Rose0o > I don't know where this came from and I feel like I shouldn't have ever changed my name to this, but this is what my friends call me (without the 0's and o's that I added, because the name itself alone was taken).
  3. Shiune > A total random name I made up from the name "Siune" which was a character from an anime called Sword Art Online. I added the H since it didn't make a big difference to the way it is pronounced.
  4. Deathly Lotus > I felt like having a name that would let people know who I main so I came up with this one after a long time of trying out different words to describe Katarina. I really like this one, because it's more gender-neutral as well, lol!

My name was originally the second char I made in a beta I was in. Ever since I've used it for every online game I was in (always for a redheaded female because I like redheads). When I started LOL, I didn't know a thing about mobas and I really didn't think much about it out of habit and now I'm stuck with it here. I could create a smurf or just switch names, but meh.
