League Community more Toxic than Sarah Jessica Parker's Face.
Okay, to start off this rant/thread there's a few things I must state. Firstly, I don't claim to be amazing at this game. I'm fairly new to the game in that I started in April of Season 5. You could perhaps read this as "a newbies first reactions to playing this game". I reached ranked games within a month and a half and through the perils of solo queue I placed into Silver 5 as a jungler/support. In all my 6 or so years of online gaming I have never seen such a community so toxic, so vile, so corrupt, or disgusting as this one. I played Aion for several years and it too had many toxic players. It doesn't even come close to League's toxicity. I know I know, just by making a thread I like this I will have people troll me and just prove my point. But give me a freaking break. In the past 3-4 days of playing ranked I have gotten so close to my promos twice and then its all lost and I find myself back at 0 LP where I started.
I'm not saying that I'm amazing at the game and if I ever lose ranked then it has to be someone else's fault. No. If I know something was my fault i'll own up to it. I know when I'm responsible for a loss. Hell even when someone else is getting bashed in chat I will tend to take the heat for them just so that these whining crybabies will focus on playing the game in front of them than raging at each other. People just rage all the time and don't even realize that they're now playing even more badly because of their rage. The cycle of fail is real - and its happened to me within the first 2 minutes of a game. For example, I'm playing jungler and our bot lane decides to not go invade but to at least ward. They get caught out and both die before the 2 minute mark. "WTF FCK U NOOB," says both bot laners in chat acting as if its my fault when I never even asked them to ward. Because they both died, they both just afk'd so 3v5, GG. There goes the 19 LP I would have needed to get into my promos. I know I'm just some noob Silver 5 complaining about not getting my promos-blah blah blah-but where does it end? Apparently it has become basic knowledge that no matter which league/division you're in you will always have trolls. In a game of millions and millions I understand that its hard to weed out all the bad apples - but Rito seriously needed to be more proactive. I mean its too late for Riot. The tribunal system in my honest opinion is a fail-whale.
It is my honest opinion that Riot will never be the reason why this game dies via poor development or mismanagement of content. Dare I say the end has already began for this train wreck? The tribunal system was a nice initial way to counter the toxic but from someone who has witnessed the tribunal process-Rito has allowed the community to just snowball this game to hell. "Oh they don't care so long as they get their money". Yes, this is true. Companies generally don't care about their product or how people treat it so long as they can turn a profit. I know what its like. Back when I was playing Aion religiously I would be such an ass to people cause I could 1v5. Me and my friends controlled the faction and together we denied so many players so much content for years. We'd make them feel so hopeless and miserable that they'd move onto another game. Because of that toxic, the server died. Rip. That's aside the point, but from someone who has seen what a poor community can do to a game I promise you this: the moment Riot allowed this toxic to go truly unchecked was the moment the game was lost. Lost to the people who just want to sit back and relax and enjoy the game. We all might as well sit down, hold hands and sing kumbaya eating bananas while the toxic people continue to kick Riot's teeth in and leave nothing in their destruction. (Side note: i'm not just talking about the trolls on your team. The other team can have trolls too. It baffles me even when they're winning they still feel the need to be an ass. Does victory give you that much salt??????)
At this point i'm just venting for the anger towards this game. I know I'm not a pro or anything near so I try to take everything with a grain of salt but how has this poor community managed to even survive over these years??? I just want to experience the game with some friends, have a few laughs, and someday eventually rank up to around Gold-no higher and no lower. How are people expected to rank up in Solo (or even as a duo) when its so easy to be held back? Statistically speaking the odds are actually in your favor (assuming you aren't the troll) to not have a troll on your team in a game of 10 people. But when this game is so unforgiving for losing ranked games on top of being screwed over by team mates. Thanks Riot, for always pairing me with people who are always on their period or just with people who are in the mood of being total douche bags. **Is any of my thinking wrong? How do you combat the trolls and pure cancer to not affect your game????**Everyone says Dota2/Halo/WoW/Aion have bad communities but from my own experience I insist that this has got to be the WORST community online. So ugly and toxic that I can only compare to that of Sarah Jessica Parker's face.
