Can someone help me understand the Report system?

Hi there!

I was just wondering how the report system works. I recently got a message after a game saying something along the lines of - "you have been reported for negative attitude". My issue with this is that I was silent almost the entire game, and as far as I know none of my comments were disrespectful at all. At the end of the match, a player on their other team killed me and said "REKT" in all-chat, and I responded in the game results page with these words - "give me a break, I'm playing with 200 ping lol". In a few seconds a "reported" message popped up on the client.

How close is my account to being banned or punished? As far as I know I haven't broken the Summoner's Code, so since I got a warning I'm pretty concerned. I hope I have nothing to worry about.

When you get reported in a large percentage of your games, you'll get a notification eventually after another report. You won't get it just for one game.

The system will check your chat logs for verbal abuse reports to verify the validity of them. If it doesn't find anything then the person who reported loses weight in their future reports, and if it's valid their reports are worth more.

After you've gotten enough validated reports in a large number of games (or very serious reports for things such as racism etc.) you'll get a chat or ranked restriction, or a ban for the most serious offenses.

basically reports for verbal abuse/negative attitude is like a special summoner spell Trundle summoner 14 that lets you hit your opponents again after the match, but you dont want to spam reports because it makes your reports matter less and less so there is some counterplay but it takes good decision making to know when to falsely report Trundle
