TBH, not a support main, honestly I'd say support is my least effective role (though not least favorite, I just never feel as good as I do in say Mid or even Jungle).
... But I've fought Bards every single game minus one today.
Before I continue, I'm a Blind Pick Scrublord, take what I say with a grain of salt. But I mean, he's been out for a day for Live, this is just my first impressions.
The sheer Carry strength the guy has is immense. ADC pushes one wave and Bard zooms up to mid and gives their Zed 2 health relics then zooms back down to his ADC before minions reach our turret. Impossible to contest Dragon Scuttle Crab or counter jungling Blue's Krugs before ganking early on because he's always zooming in and out of lane. Maybe I'm just not sure how to go against him but just his mere presence is a giant walking ward. Then his Ult. When he's on MY team the guy keeps ulting minions and Elise SPIDERLINGS. When he's on the enemy team he lands 4 man ultis, saves his ADC 40 times.
The Magical Journey thing I feel people aren't utilizing well enough yet. No comment there, but the potential for that spell is absurd. Can't wait for people to figure out their tunnel isn't just a wall dash.
All in all, I think the guy is balanced well enough. High utility, stupid low kill potential. The kind of support I like, when I think of support I think of utility not killing and pentas. Once people learn how to use him, he might be too strong, or perhaps he'll be too weak. But hey, Utility is never underpowered given the right team comp.
