initial placement, and promotions

im just curious how the initial placements work in ranked. i have ended in silver in at least 3 seasons only to be placed back in bronze 5 during my next placements. its a little bit frustrating given that it takes almost 100 games to get back out of bronze again from that low even with an almost 60% win rate.

this season, i have 53 wins and 36 losses. thats a winrate of 59.6%, and i only made it back to silver on the last game. http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/19040451

its a soft reset so if you get higher than silver this season you will probably be placed silver next season. Like I was Gold 4 last season and I was placed silver 3 after provisionals.

With a winrate like that, you'll most likely stay at the same spot, provided you manage to get 6+ wins out of 10.

I was Silver 4 last season, ended in Bronze 3 after placements, played Blitzcrank support for 3 weeks, and ended in SIlver 5. YEAH BABY!
