Leaving Games Because of bad players

why is it that if you leave a game you get punished when you cant defend your case for example if i have teammates who are terrible and there is no point of even playing it isnt killing anyones motivation to play the game if its already a lost, i usually dont leave games but when its completely pointless to continue playing why should i get punished for this when i cant even put a defense why i left, i have been playing lol since before the pre- season of season 1 and it just gets tiresome now that riot has an option to report people for being bad players and what does that do? nothing apparently when even put that option in?

You leave a game for any less than a emergency you should be banned. Now since riot can't tell if it is a emergency you get warnings and if it is common you get banned. I don't care if you think your teammates are bad. You leave because you feel the game is lost you should be banned.

Because it's bad manners and disrespectful. YOU made a commitment to this game, leaving because of any reason short of an emergency (or unfortunate stuff like phone lines blowing up etc) should be punished. It's rude to just decide you are more important than 4 other people and get up and leave simply because YOU ALONE do not want to continue, theres a reason you need at least 4 people to agree for a surrender to go through.

Because if you get banned Riot still has 63.99 million players, most of whom are paying customers.

They could care less about the individual you.
