Champs held back by 1 ability.

One thing that really grinds my gears is specific champions who are not allowed to be powerful because of a single part of their kit. Characters who would be considered "toxic" or are "lacking counterplay" and as such are nerfed below viability.

Lets brainstorm ways to fix em? :D Characters who fit this criteria in my opinion are Poppy (Diplomatic Immunity), Pantheon (Spear Shot), Gangplank (Parrrley), though I am certain you guys can help think of others.

The only one I have thought of a quick easy fix for is Gangplank. What do you guys think?

Hypothetically, what if GP needed a clear shot to his target to land a Q? Its a targeted point and click move, but it hits the first thing between GP and the target? Like Caitlyn ult but the channel time is really short. (the time it takes to do the Parrrley animation.)

What do you guys think of this to fix Gangplank? It would free them up to buff his base stats to anything resembling decent (his base stats are awful on all stats.)

I got nothing for panth or poppy yet, thinking on it though.

The nerf to Zed's E bringing it from 3 to 4 was a heavy nerf meant to reduce his ability to split push but actually just threw off his whole flavor and style, heavily nerfing his possible damage. Riot wanted to reduce his split pushing but instead of reducing his E's damage to minions, they reduced all his damage, which did not need to happen.

This changes all Zed builds from cooldown reduction (which is important for any AD caster) to mindlessly stacking AD.

Talon's Q reveal doesn't reveal stealthed targets

The nerf to Jayce's gate cooldown was meant to reduce his poke in the laning phase but ended up heavily reducing his flavor and playstyle. Riot could have increased the cooldown in the early game and kept the cooldown in the late game but nerfed it across the board which didn't need to happen. I hope with Xyph's rework that he brings the cooldown back down. This single change almost took Jayce completely off of the competitive radar.

Ezreal's W does nothing for AD Ezreal which is the only competitively viable way to play him.

In my opinion, for Gangplank it isn't his Q that's holding him back. It's that he has both a global ultimate, and it is still a true global ultimate last I knew, and a low cooldown cleanse plus a heal on remove scurvy.

If you were to change/remove either of these ability's or both it would free up a tremendous amount of power that could go back into his kit. The problem with this is both his ultimate, and oranges are nearly defining characteristics of Gangplank.

Just my 2cents. Remove the cleanse effect on Oranges (although it is possibly one of the coolest skills in the game), and shift power back into the rest of his kit.

I agree this bugs me

Heimer fits this, although Xyph already stated his solution. I can't wait to see it live either.

In regards to the desire to remove "point and click" harass, you'd have to change a LOT of characters. Kennen never stops throwing shuriken, vlad never stops hitting Q, Yoricks ghouls seem neverending. To change the game to get rid of harassment is to change the entire game. The trade off with these point and click harassers is that if you have sustain in the lane the harassment really doesn't matter at all.

In regards to poppy, if you change her ultimate I will REALLY be upset. She has a reputation as a master diver of carries, and you would completely remove the only thing that makes her able to march through to her target. There are counters to this play, like strong kiting. Mechanically it is more taxing and the teamfights with a poppy are completely different, but isnt that the point of having so many champions, to create different gameplay?
