Queue Health: Support Exodus
It's no secret that the bane of queue times has been a lack of people queuing up in support. The scarcity of this role causes frustrations in longer queue times and increased amount of auto-fills. I'm hoping to shed some light on where all the supports have gone.
A couple seasons ago before queue had the player input a primary/secondary role, I considered myself a mid main and support as a secondary role when I couldn't get mid. What I quickly found in the the new queue is that queueing as mid/sup might as well be queueing as support only. I'm willing to play support as a secondary role but was not willing to be forced into a support main. I now queue as mid/adc.
Summary: The lack of support players hurt by the fact that the only people left who queue support are true support mains. Secondary support players have been forced into other secondary roles.
Possible fix: Garuntee that __% of your games will be played under your primary role. By having this insurance we can increase the pool of players who queue with support for secondary role.
Goal: Reduce queue time and amount of autofills.
