I really, really, want to get gold by the end of the season, I've been sitting on Silver for awhile, and during fall break, I planned to make it to gold. I had a little trouble, but I eventually got to 80 points, silver 1. Then, I started to only gain a maximum of 3 lp per match, going down to 2 points after I hit 90 points. Then, I went up by 1 point going from 95 points. I dident mind this too much, I understood they wanted you to play at a higher level for longer. But Riot, when I get to 99 LP, you expect, that the next time you win you go into your series right? Well, that dident happen to me. +0 LP, are you kidding me? I'm about to give up on ranked because of how much BS this is.

If you're getting 0 LP, taht means the system doesn't consider you ready to move forward.

The system shouldent work like that. If it takes years to get to the point of 99 lp, why do they make me wait even more to start my series that I may or may not win? That shouldent happen considering how difficult it is to move tiers.

are you duo queing, i have seen that in other riot posts that if your MMR is hugely different from someone you are queing with, you will not go into a series that match...

The system wants to be sure you're ready to get that next division mostly due to the fact that you cannot drop from it.

It checks and double checks to make sure you,re ready to go and belong there. As long as you're not going forward, you are where you belong.

It only takes years because your MMR is far from where it should be. I went from Silver to gold with +5-10 per wins because I got stuck in Silver 1-2 long enough...

How about playing solo, lose a game then win a game after that. Work for many people

If its taking you "years" to get to that point, maybe the system has you in the right place then.

Not really, no. Getting 3LP per win is frustrating. With a perfect record of 100% win-rate, it would take 34 games to get to a promo, and that isn't even accounting for any drop in LP gains.

Asking for 34 straight wins is way too much. Assuming you have a 75% winrate (win 3, lose 1, WLWW pattern), which is really generous, and lose 2 LP per loss, mathematically you'd have to play 57 games to get to your promos. I'm sorry, but that a LOT.

In divisions 2-5 I got around 20 LP per win, which is pretty fair, but it suddenly dropped to 4 LP after getting to division 1. It's frustrating as all hell.

EDIT:
Oh, and not to mention that successive wins don't improve LP gains by much.
+3+3+3+3+4+4+4+4 would be the best you'd see.

HOWEVER, successive losses ramp up LP loss tremendously
-2-2-4-8-14 would be the usual pattern (speaking from experience)

Eh I understand your frustration but its a grind and the system in place actually works.

I grinded out of bronze, then silver and currently on my way through gold so its possible, but the way the system works is that it looks at your current MMR. Whats likely going on is that your MMR is to low, and so every win you get your MMR is raising by X amount, but your LP doesn't move because your not over the "mountain" as I call it. You're just going to keep having to play more and more, eventually you'll start gaining a lot more LP, and it won't be nearly as awful of a grind, but sometimes it may take 30+ games before you start making 5+ LP when you're at 90+ LP. Good luck, I know its frustrating, but if it makes you feel any better, everyone has to do it!
