Maining a Champion Truly Makes a difference in Win percentage

I had a question that I felt needed to be answered. "Does maining a champion truly make a difference in win rate?" I decided to test this theory with a project. During Patch 5.9, I decided to record the global win rates for champions as well as the win rates of the players who have played each respective champion the most. For those that are curious if it truly does matter. I found an average increase of 3.96% higher win rate if you play a champion the most, second most, and third most compared to the world. Over time, the more you play a champion, the more of an increase in your win rate. I attached my data if anyone wants to do any further calculations. Have a good day!

Anyone could've told you that.

I like how "Maining Janna" gives you about -2% additional win rate.

So maining makes a difference in your win rate with the particular champion that you main? If that was what you were checking (which it looks like that's what you were doing), then I don't feel like you really added much. Sure, seeing someone do an analysis on this is cool, but we already "knew" that maining someone made you better at them. If you wanted to create new knowledge you could test to see if having a main (say, over 40% of games on one champion) increased or decreased your overall win rates.

I would be more interested in the win rate difference for the champions that a player doesn't main. To create worthwhile data, it would probably have to be limited to 2nd/3rd (maybe even 4th) most played champs, and require meeting a threshold of having played at least X number of games (or perhaps categorize the data into multiple tiers based on games played).
