Allow Me To Promote 3v3 Flex queue!

Lots of people don't enjoy 3s, but what I don't understand is how? With so many people raging at their teammates and crying about not being able to carry I'm surprised those people don't prefer to play 3s. With 3s you have two less people on your team! That means everything you do is much more impactful! Even if your teammates are feeding you can still mitigate the damage by helping them since roaming is a butt ton easier on Treeline. That aside I'll list some of my other top reasons you should give this queue a serious shot and see it from my perspective!

  • Smaller map means more action and a shorter lane phase.

  • Jungling is easier since you start with 850 gold. You can buy both jg items making it possible to jungle on almost any champ.

  • There is a 3s meta but it is very flexible compared to 5s. You may not be able to get away with urgot still without your team crying but you could probably do well with urgot anyways.

  • Much, much more action. Did I mention that already? You will see much more frequent ganks and invades starting from level 2 depending on the skill of the jungler. You will see first blood drop super quickly even in challenger elos.

  • Teamwork makes the dream work. Yes carrying is easier, but if you both carry and coordinate with your team you will climb super easy.

  • You aren't forced into a role you don't want. No one expects a support role. Obviously you can support if you want, but no support is A-okay. Sometimes you might be forced to play a role but it's no where near as bad as being forced into the support role. At least you can carry no matter what role you're in.

  • Easy way to improve yourself! Most people will agree matchmaking in 3v3 is extremely unbalanced. This paves the way for improvement because you're in a competitive setting against people that are usually significantly better than you. I mean before flex 3v3 I had never had the opportunity to play against challenger players. Now I play against a full team of them at least once every day or two. It's rough at first but actually playing against them made me learn soooooo much, I couldn't be more humbled. P.S. the first time i played against them I was scarred for life, be prepared they are brutal and make you question why you ever thought you had skills.

**There's a lot of cons that come with 3s that I'm hoping riot will fix. You may see a few contradictions in this list so bare with me, trying to be as honest as I can be. **

  • Riot does not pay enough attention to Treeline. There are problems on problems that I will go over in the rest of this list. These problems have existed for a very, very long time and i expect them to last even longer.

  • Tanks are simply too strong. I could go on and on about it, but it's the truth. The op's in treeline are almost all tanks or bruisers.

  • Vilemaw is a nice touch but falls short to champions with sustain. Because there's only 3 people on a team vilemaw's damage is dumbed down to compliment that. However this opens the door for champs with innate sustain.

  • The location of vilemaw is awkward and doesn't offer enough challenge for contesting. The way baron is setup is so that even teams who are behind can offer challenge and contest it. Vilemaw steals are difficult when you combine it with the fact that a lot of champs can solo it. So you can have someone like aatrox or fiddle solo it while your other 2 teammates simply strong arm the other team. Doesn't leave a lot of room for strategy.

  • Difficult to make a come back. Possible, of course. But the method to win the game once your ahead is both repetitive and simplistic as long as you complete the first step. 1. Get ahead( first blood, maybe a few kills here and there very early ) 2. invade jungle and look for kills there, if there are none simply dive a turret of the guy who is alone. 3. Keep pressure on your lane opponent and repeat step 2 a few times. 4. take vile and pressure with your team all the way to victory. Lots of high elo players not only agree with this strategy, they abuse it because if all you need to do is get ahead you can do things like the infamous support comp. Where the only goal is to get one guy to out level and out farm early, even at the expense of the supports exp and gold. Pretty much what a support is supposed to do but it's waaaaaay too effective in treeline.

Overall despite the cons I think treeline has a nice dynamic that's different from 5s and offers a wonderful break from the trials that come with playing in a 5s game. I definately think more people should play it and maybe then Riot will fix the problems it has. I hope most people can agree with this post and maybe it will create some more people to main 3v3 flex.
