Hextech Crafting Loot Decided
anyone know when the loot in a Hextech Box is decided, is it when you obtain the box, or open the box?

How and why does this matter? It's not like you have an old save file you can restart back to and try again.
I'm fairly certain, then, that the contents are determined on opening. Due to the size of Riot, the global reach, and the necessity for server space, it would consume quite a bit of additional server space to hold records of what's going to be in every chest every player currently has sitting in their inventory. So that's my logic.
