So, What is the situation on Bard?

I was gone for roughly 3ish months ( Came back and PC couldn't handle LoL very well, so I stopped after a game or three. ) and I'm curious as to the standings with Bard.

Today someone queue dodged because I picked him, and then someone trolled champion selected because he didn't want to go bottom with me as Bard.

I've been playing him in normals a lot with friends all night and have had very good success.

Has anything really. Changed? Like, has the playerbase finally accepted Bard? or what's the situation on him?

People think he suck because he is difficult to master, a good Bard will drive you nuts.

I played Bard for the first time when playing with some friends and actually liked him a fair bit, his mana costs are a bit high though (as to be expected with a non-Soraka healing support) and I am not a huge fan of his ult but overall I found him fine, even enjoyable.

The awareness you need to be successful with bard eludes a lot of players, even in higher ranks. He is not one of those champs that use their nuke potential to burst down a target and then let the adc clean up. He is highly dependent on map awareness and positioning, on landing is skillshots and using his tunnel the correct way. He is hard to master and therefore not viable in low elo. I am low elo and i do not play with bard supports anymore. It just does not work.
