Hi, I'm Tony!

Today I would like to discuss with you, the Monday Morning forum Readers, if LoL is worth putting a lot of money into. My brother and I just moved to the same college. He goes to school, I'm independantly employed. We will have a lot of money between us and want to invest in an online company. We both love LoL and think its only getting better, but we are afraid of the long term payoff.

What do you think? Would it be better to invest more time playing LoL or better to open a gaming shop near the college and promoting The League?

Honestly you'd prolly make a lot of money with a viewing/gaming party place. With Digital download becoming the main way to purchase and acquire games even places like gamestop are seeing a hit in their revenue. On the other hand league is still growing, like a lot. And places like a bar/venue that hosts viewing/gaming/lan parties are doing great.

If you have the money and interest in opening a e-sports bar I would completely say it's worth it. E-sports may still be in its infancy but it's still huge and getting bigger every day. It's not just League that's big either. There's also RTS games and the Fighting Game scene, not to mention the FPS crowds that love competitive Call of Duty.

Ultimately, you have to determine your demographic. As an esports bar or gaming store you would primarily be looking to serve men ages 12 to 30ish. That being said, what type of students attend your brothers college? Is there a league club at his school? If there are gamers, open up an esports bar. You could include a lot of computers all with internet access, an actual store where you could sell snacks and riot points, and a large TV that constantly streams ranked or pro games.

I personally believe that there are more gamers than sport heads in thee new generation, and a esports bar would make a boatload of cash. However, be cautious about opening a business because they can make you or break you big time!

But hey, good luck to you, hope it all works out!!
