Over a year ago I gave it up, what's changed?

I've been playing League of Legends since January 2013, but as of around March 2014, I gave the game for Dota 2. In the long run it's been a far better and less casual experience and have made me more friends, but that's not the point here. The point is that I've been dragged by other friends to play it here and there and have noticed MANY changes, and I've decided to give LoL another chance, playing it occasionally now and again. So I'm going to tell you where I left off at, and then ask two questions, giving some context as to what I already know.

Here's what I remember as far as the last time I seriously played League of Legends:

• Braum had just recently been released, (I think) Azir was teased at along with the new map
• Kayle, Lee Sin, Morgana, Lee Sin, and Fizz were cancer
• Quinn was my bae and at the time was being recognized as an anti-top laner
• DFG Garen was a thing. DFG was a thing in general.
• AP Burst was super strong in the meta at the time.
• The jungle was pretty strong, especially with Master Yi because of the Feral Flare, which I remember people were raging about for weeks and weeks because of how balanced it was.

Now with that said, here's a few things that I have noticed in the few games I have played up to this point:

• DFG is no longer a thing.
• The new map is pretty, but angled really weirdly. For some reason the radiant blue side looks really close up and flat.
• The lore is essentially dead.
• FIzz and Lee Sin are still cancer.

So here's my two questions, what exactly has changed in the meta? And what is good and what is bad? Quinn is my bae and Nasus and Garen are my bruhs, and I have no idea if they even fit in the meta anymore. So that's about it, any actual feedback would be nice, and this doesn't mean I'm coming into league at full swing, I still feel more comfortable in Dota 2, but having taken a year long break is admittedly a breath of fresh air.
