Am I obligated to play?

When I am called a %%%%%% by my teamates, and another teamate expresses his wish that my entire family burn to death, all within the first 5 minutes of the game, am I obligated to keep playing?

Context: I was caught offguard by enemy team when putting a deep ward in their top-side jungle at the beginning of the game. As most junglers tend to start bot-side for the better leash, I usually don't end up running into the entire enemy team when I go to ward, thus I was not expecting it and gave first blood.

You aren't obligated to play, no. But you are obligated to accept and stand by the consequences of your decision not to.

Or, to put it another way: You're perfectly welcome to leave the game, so long as you know and accept the consequences that come with leaving the game.

Ohhhh I get it now. The mute button is there because it makes you want to help your teamate, who wants your family to die because you died in a video game, win.

Don't feed the trolls man. By letting what they say bother you, and worse, losing because of it, you are feeding the trolls and letting them win. Simply mute them and continue playing. If they are seriously that bad report them and I can pretty much guarantee they will get banned eventually.

However please do not ask other people to report them. Unless they abuse all chat the other team has no reason to report the trolls on your team. And your teammates will report them if they feel it was deserved. You don't have to tell them.
