Lets Evolve. Time to remove chat from in game.

First, let me tell you about myself. I am not amazing at this game. I love everything about this game. Art design/music/lore/ etc. After my first few months i was banned for using bad language. I tend to get baited alot. Someone will pick a fight, and I will lose it. Between the heated spam coming from whoever, and trying to concentrate i will more then likely retaliate with an elaborate insult of sorts. Then get banned. It doesn't happen much anymore, and that because i stopped playing solo que. Just waited till i found 5 irl friends and made a team, now i just play with them. I feel a bit cheated by the system, because when i was banned, I was banned for fighting back, not initiating, so now i just stay out of solo que.

NOW my Idea -

I was reading on the forums the other day that now someone got banned for saying reported. I mean,...really? While i feel tribunal has made "positive changes", its only because its a scare tactic. The problem is that toxicity in trolling/harassing in this game seems to drastically change metas. Its like internet sayings that pop up. "you mad" "do you even lift"etc, we have all seen junk like this spammed. Insulting people/baiting/trolling continues to change, and find new ways to become toxic.

So I had this genius idea( im sure its not original), Just get rid of in game chat period. Turn off all chat in game. ZERO options allowed. The only possible way to chat is via friends list outside of games. We have enough pings now that people should be able to communicate clearly. There are plenty of gateways into learning this game via guide sites/streamers/etc, to learn how to ping/play. When the new pings system came out , I was like thank god, mute everyone every game and just use pings, but then i read you can be banned for that too for "refusing to communicate."

Riot, you could at least try this for a while. I think the impact it would make would be great. Forces game mechanics to be used, removes nonsense. And its utterly fair to all. While my sailor mouth may be a minority, I am still a person, and my person comes out in my behavior. A game should not force anything onto people, let alone have scare tactics where a consumer can be utterly shat on for using the f/word.

AS Riot and LoL get even bigger, I feel like its time to evolve a few things.

Heck. No. No chat means no communication. Even now, no matter what games I play, I get junglers who won't respond to assist me pings, and whole teams who don't ping at all. The higher ranked (bronze - challenger) the less chat will be used, just ignore the crap, because eventually, no one will really talk...

make it difficult to strategize. the ping is great for tactical use. but it's difficult to set up death bush/invades/lane swaps. not impossible though. i also really like the pings. but it's only 6 noises/pings and that's a pretty small amount.

i'd recommend just ignoring the users who give you crap (which is what i do) and just concentrate on playing the game communicating with pings. it doesn't need a policy-wide change

How do you say "Ganking bot at 5:30" or "tb1530/Their blue is back up at 15:30" in ping language?
How do you say "shove bot while I split top" in ping language?
How do you say differentiate "Let's do baron", "They are doing baron", "They aren't doing baron", "We shouldn't do baron", "Ward baron please", "Should we baron?" and "Baron is warded" in ping language? (oh and add in oracle control and ganks in that)
How do you ask your mid to buy a pink ward for dragon in ping language?
How do you give players the latency to communicate enough without chat, without giving flamers the tools to spam pings at others? Because at that point, you will still retaliate by spam pinging...

You're toxic, and you need to learn to deal with it.
I'm toxic and I need to learn to deal with it.
Removing everyone's ability to chat won't solve that in the least bit, since my stupid adc will still facecheck that invade we all spotted.

taking away team chat in a Team Game.... seems a little..... no offense but dumb. You are absolutely right when you say that people get bans for dumb things, and you get caught up in the moment sometimes, but neither of these is anywhere close to a good enough reason to remove a way to communicate with your team. I don't know how many solo plays you have seen versus team plays, but I can tell you that team plays are much easier AND fun to pull off. Instead of initiating a gank with a ping and just hoping that your teammate in lane uses his moves at the right time, you talk to him. You let him know you're coming in, tell him how pushed you want the lane, let him know you will use your slow as soon as your mate uses his snare. Now instead of 2 randomly placed CC's, you have a nice long continuous 1. And you'd be surprised how forgiving people can be if you just communicate. EVEN if you just screamed at your teammate, if you just compose yourself and say you're sorry you got caught up in the moment, it's never too late to try and turn things around. It's at that point that if your team wants to continue flaming, go ahead and mute. As long as a tribunal Reviewer sees you tried to be mature, there's a decent chance you won't be getting a ban vote.

So really to sum it up:

1: Play AS a team WITH your team--

2: There is a difference between being upset and being toxic, COMMUNICATE your feelings MATURELY with your team--

3: Make your team feel good about playing with you, compliment them, or defend them from other toxic players--

4: The more fun your team is having, likely the more fun you're having--

5: Do your best; no one can truly blame you for trying your hardest--

6: If you followed all the above steps and you still have issues with your team, remember 2 things;--

6a: You can always ignore Toxicity--

6b: It's only one game, in 45 mins or less you will likely never have to deal with your team ever again (if solo q)

I want the chat removed simply to spite keyboard warriors threatening to report anyone having a bad game.

I know i can hide the chat below the screen, and i generally do, but i want it gone, not to make it easier on myself, but to punish lifeless nerds who can't have a good time without belittling teammates.

Sorry for the longest run on sentence of all time.
