League Points (LP) Idea

League of Legends new idea

It's more of a system to where you're not being brought down when you do well and your team doesn't. I also feel this'll make the community a better place, because LP loss will not fully depend on losing or winning, but winning and losing will still have a big factor:

WINNING::: Minimum LP GAIN= 10 Maximum LP GAIN= 25

Every kill gives you: +1 LP Every death gives you: -1 LP

Ex. 1: So let's say you are 15/10 and you win the game. You'd get (10+15)-10 = 15.

Ex. 2: So let's say you are 20/0 and you win the game. You'd get (10+20)-0 = 25 (Maximum LP gain so you do not advance too fast, you may have just gotten a lucky game!)

Ex. 3: So let's say you are 0/15 and you win the game. You'd get (10+0)-15 = 10 (Can't go below 10 because the minimum for a win should be 10!)

That's enough explanation for winning I'm sure, now onto losing. Kinda the same system, but backwards!

LOSING::: Minimum LP LOSS= 10 Maximum LP LOSS= 25

Every kill reduces LP Loss by: -1 Every death increases LP loss by: 2

This way, if you do well, but your team lets the game go, you can get away with just losing maybe 10-15 LP. But, if you feed, you end up losing up to a max of 25, which can be devastating and so no one would want to feed or purposely throw the game for your team.

Ex. 1: So let's say you are 15/10 and you lose the game. You'd lose (10+20)-15 = 15.

Ex 2: So let's say you are 20/00 and you lose the game. You'd lose (10+00)-20 = 10 (Can't go below the minimum, or you'd never go down!)

Ex. 3 So let's say you are 00/15 and you lose the game. You'd lose (10+30)-0 = 25 (Hit the max, don't want to drop you too far just in case it's just a bad game!)

Now, on to the assists. The more complicated part of all this.

I feel 2 assists should equal 1 kill, just so supports have some leverage to not drop a ton or not go up as fast as the ADC or mid lane. Now on to the examples of the assists

WINNING GAME ASSIST EXAMPLES:::

Ex. 1: So let's say you are 15/10/20 and you win the game. You'd gain (10+15)-10 +10 (Assist points) = 25 (that's if someone get's a decent amount of kills and assists!)

Ex. 2: So let's say you are 20/00/10 and you win the game. You'd gain (10+20)-00 +05 (Assist points) = 25 (Maximum LP gain so you do not advance too fast, you may have just gotten a lucky game!)

Ex. 3: So let's say you are 00/15/40 and you win the game. (Support or bad game that you tried in and got a lot of assists!) You'd gain (10+00)-15 +20 (Assist points) = 15 (So you're not rewarded for all your deaths but you assists make up for it!)

Ex. 4: So let's say you are 00/15/00 and you win the game. (The feeders no one wants) You'd gain (10+00)-15 +00 (Assist points) = 10 (You won, you earned it, but you're not gonna get much for not helping!)

LOSING GAME ASSIST EXAMPLES:::

Ex. 1: So let's say you are 15/10/20 and you lose the game. You'd lose (10+20)-15 -10 (Assist points) = 10 (minimum LP loss because you tried, and your kills and assists show it!)

Ex. 2: So let's say you are 20/00/10 and you lose the game. You'd lose (10+00)-20 -05 (Assist points) = 10 (You did well and deserved the minimal reduction!)

Ex. 3: So let's say you are 00/15/40 and you lose the game. You'd lose (10+30)-00 -20 (Assist points) = 20 (You got a lot of assists, but you died in the process, but you won't lose 25 at least!)

Ex. 4: So let's say you are 00/15/00 and you lose the game. You'd lose (10+30)-00 -00 (Assist points) - 25 (You fed their team and did not help them get kills, max LP reduction for you!)

I feel like that covers that. I know the system is a little flawed but I'm sure if you guys decide to use this system you can tweak it to your liking. I'm just tired of losing 20-30+ LP for a loss that wasn't even close to my fault.

Thanks for taking the time to read and consider this idea, especially because it's a long read!

One of many problems with this is the problem of the promotion of champion kills as the primary objective. If my jungler went 0/10 but secured every dragon and baron in exchange I'd be very much ok with that. The other problem is it just promotes situations where teams just go all mid, kill the crap out of each other (because realistically you'll get kill participation in 2-3 kills per teamfight) and come out with an average of 1/1/2 per teamfight. Repeat often enough and you'll end up with a situation of everybody getting the maximum gains and the minimum losses.

cool but idk if that will ever happen. but i think the system is already like that anyways because you have to lose LP for a loss
