I have a tendency to be sarcastic towards players that are toxic towards me. If they yell at me for anything, I often respond sarcastically, saying sorry often and making jokes about them being challenger and us being bronze noobs that cant even play the game. I usually respond every time the toxic player yells at a team member.
Would that be reportable for harassment? I've had the same toxic players threaten me with reports multiple times already.
I wouldn't think so. Personally, I act sarcastically, but I don't act as aggressively sarcastic. Our midlaner is talking about how low my team's CS is in all chat, and I respond by saying sorry in all chat. By the way, I'm the support Alistar. Stuff like that is just fun to do and sometimes gets funny reactions.
Yes ! it can be considered a punishable thing depending on how you handle it, and how often it happens. Saying it was a joke is not enough in the long run. Be careful about asking for others to report with you also., this is becoming more and more considered bad behavior.
I know it isn't easy to deal with this, just don't lower yourself to their level. It's one thing on the boards to be a bit more outspoken but in-game someone is going to take offence and start hitting the report button.
Just don't take the chance, mute if you need to and report after if you feel they deserve a report. Try not to consider the report function a punishment button. If you consider that your report is only alerting the problem then you will have an easier time not worrying about if "they" got a ban.
