So in my recent games, I've been noticing a trend lately. Everyone tends to think there ALWAYS has to be a jungler. I've even seen people feed and start flame wars over not having a jungler and having duo top.So I ask- why? Why do these people think that there can NEVER be a duo top and the whole world will crash down if there isn't a jungler?
You're level 14.
Junglers aren't super mandatory where you're at, since people are typically just learning the game.
You definitely need junglers around level 20, and most definitely once you hit 30 because that's when the training wheels are off and you need to utilize strategy.
Given that you are level 14, duo top is probably a viable strategy.
Without tier 3 runes and full mastery pages, most champions except 
and 
will struggle with staying healthy in the jungle and clearing the camps.
However, being able to Jungle provides a huge EXP and Gold advantage. Junglers earn as much as laners now; your team would literally have an extra lane worth of gold and levels. Additionally, Junglers travel across the map while clearing their camps. Junglers therefore have a much easier time assisting their lanes because they do not have to leave a lane and roam.
In short, you get more gold and experience by having a jungler, and your laners will have an easier time.

ive won silver ranked games with no jungle. people throw a huge fit about it though. its not really worth it unless you like to hear a lot of crying and whining from your teammates.
at your lvl currently duo top is honestly fine, but jungle is just to good of a role to pass up on most of the time due to the objective control and map pressure they bring
Duo top is bad because you're losing out on CS and XP. If the other team has a jungler then the jungler and top laner with both be higher level than the duo top at almost all times
There's this thing called a META-it means 1 top, 1 mid, 2 bot and 1 jungle...bot and top can switch lanes if agreed on. RIOT says clearly in many places tehre is no META to support....but RIOT employees support the META all the time (they are called LCS casters and analysts). Behind closed doors, Riot ALWAYS wants you to have a jungler. In public, they will denounce any META and say they don't exist. LCS busted them hard, and they still won't admit there is a META you HAVE to play. If you want to take this game seriously, learn the jungle-then be prepared to RE-LEARN it every 2 weeks out because of the ridiculous amount of changes they make. (oh, and you HAVE to play the meta for the reasons OP described, people afk, feeding, all that stuff Riot can't fix)
