Make borders show up if you use the icon?

I understand the whole argument on why Riot did not want to show the enemy team the border. However, if you are able use the summoner icon, isn't that already going into the argument on why borders were not shown, to prevent enemy team to give up right away if they saw a high ranked person. So what is the harm of using a toggle to show the border or not.
