When your teammates do nothing but complain about you while not understanding basic skills of the game what are you supposed to do? Mute them? so they can talk shit about you behind your back in all chat or your own chat to make people report you? Or just let them go nuts in chat and dispute what they say and get reported and chat restricted cause you dared to say something back that was't good or nice to the troll on your team who does nothing but feed and complain? This games Community or what I see of it from actually playing the game is sad, and anybody below plat does not work as a team or play with winning in mind because "omg its just normals calm down" "wow you're silver you automatically suck and that makes me better than you cause I got carried" Honestly I liked this game and I love to play it with friends, but the Community makes it impossible to play by myself or ranked at all. I play this game because of the fun I used to have and the money I spent on it, and I don't want it to be that way, but all the people who play this game are too laid back to care about games that matter or too uptight to admit to ever being wrong and won't improve. No idea what I am supposed to do at this point other than trudge through this game till it is fun again. :/ Amumu Sorry for saying Riot but....League isn't fun to play by yourself unless you troll it seems.

Most of the community is pretty awful from what ive seen. Makes it really hard to enjoy the game when you get such a vast number of trolls and people who wanna bitch someone out for every little mistake, while ignoring their own. Truly an ignorant community from my experience...

Yeah a majority of players below gold or plat will only seek to play perfect the first time and never make mistakes rather than make them and learn from them. The god complex strikes again.

Yes. If you don't want to listen to their crap. If you don't, you're only going to get more pissed off and possibly resign to stooping to their level and being toxic too, which not only doesn't help but it hurts more than just your intended victim. Yes, victim. Even if they started it, they have the same rights you do.

Simply mute and report them. Your life will be so much better;

  • You won't get restricted for getting toxic back
  • If they get reported for this often they will get punished
  • You don't have to listen to any more than you want

Getting toxic back is not just "defending yourself" when you're causing more problems for the rest of the team. Let's put this into a commonly used scenario to argue for "defending yourself";

  1. Criminal shoots at you
  2. You have the right to "defend yourself"
  3. You shoot back
  4. You end up hitting 3 innocent bystanders
  5. You are prosecuted for murder and he only gets intent or assault w/ a deadly weapon or something

Good job on defending yourself. This is the equivalent of what happens when you perpetuate a toxic argument in game. "He started it" is a child's argument that you should've stopped using long ago.

Depending on the laws of your state you won't be prosecuted for murder. For example, let's put your defending yourself theory to the test. what if you're defending yourself inside your own home and hit bystanders. in the south you won't be prosecuted.

Everything I hear out of you is so myopic that I have a hard time believing that you are an actual person. Your thought process doesn't work on bullies, which is what these toxic players are. All you are doing is victim-blaming. It's an immature response.

Your logic doesn't even make sense. If someone is being toxic, and you say something back, didn't they already ruin those other 3 people's game? Oh, I forgot, you can't be bothered with nuance.

Just muting someone does not really help as the majority of people who are toxic don't stop by being muted, or even by being talked to about the problem. "He started it" is a perfectly reasonable thing to say btw because if someone is insulting you lying there and taking it or putting your fingers in your ears and saying "LALALA" so you cant hear them isn't a good solution just a way to annoy that person to make them more toxic to the rest of your team honestly.

I personally find this really hard as well. I have a ton of fun with this game, but playing ranked is really hard. I'm a bronze player and feel (like all other bronze players) that i'm too good for bronze, but am stuck here. AFK's and trolls are too common to have any fun in ranked. Then you get the toxic idiots who go nuts in allchat talking bad about your team. Muting them does nothing but get you paranoid. And reporting them just makes them laugh. "I have other accounts to play, I don't care about being reported" or "Reporting does nothing, like a day without League is it" I don't fully understand how the tribunal works, but it doesn't seem to be very effective. IMO

To me the Tribunal does not work very well, I have been chat restricted in about 500 games in a row and about 20% of what I got reported for was not in self defense. It works based on what you say and do not how you play or how you say it.

Best part, is the community is better than what it used to be. It was terrible back in like season 2

That's because they were pretty lenient when it came to toxic behavior back then. Now with riot trying to clean up the community people don't like it because they can't say what they use to be able to anymore!
