So in the past week or so, I've gotten at least 15 fake accounts try to friend me. I accepted the first because i thought it was a past player and I'm a pretty personable person. I messaged them and it sent me a link to some add. I wouldn't post this for just the one but every time i log in i get 2 or 3 fake account requests. It's getting kinda annoying.....
Yup! Unfortunately, the problem isn't dealing with "toxic" language. So it will not be addressed anytime soon.
They're mostly advertising "elo boosting" services. Most of them want your account information to play games for you, you typically don't get your account back. Some of them advertise payment and just carry you from one rank to the next, but after they have your money, they may not fulfill the task. You can just decline them all as just an extra login step, or you can "Suppress notification popups" by clicking the little gear below your IP. The notifications don't go away, but they'll stop obnoxiously popping up in separate dialogue boxes, even for game invites.
