Riot, why no showing at Fan Expo in Toronto this year?
Last year, Riot hosted a wonderful event at Toronto's Fan Expo featuring an exclusive art demonstration by Ironstylus, community games and competitions, fan art showings, signing from a pro player and Riot staff, multiple cosplay related attractions, posters, poros, statues, and free skins. Fans who attended were really excited and I remember all of the positive energy and shouts of DEMACIA! that drowned out the rest of the expo and made it a truly memorable experience. This year, I saw a number of people dressed in League of Legends costumes disappointed by a complete lack of anything from Riot Games at the same expo they had rocked a year previous. All the friends I brought to show the League event left feeling like they had really missed something special, and it put a damper on our whole visit. Can a Rioter explain why Fan Expo was not on the radar this year? I'm not angry for you guys not showing up, but it would be interesting to know why. Will Riot be visiting Fan Expo in the future? I think it is a great way to generate hype and spread League to an audience of people who already like games, and Fan Expo only grows more popular each year. I realize that Riot can't go to every convention, but the success of last year's event had me convinced that another would follow it. Do any summoners from Toronto agree? Anyone who went to fan expo hoping for a League event? If so, post in the comments below.
TL:DR Riot was great last year at fan expo, didn't show up this year and it was disappointing.
