Permanently Banned after 5 years..

Hi,

I was recently permanently banned after 5 years of being on good behavior.

This is how it happened:

Recently, I was in the hospital due to being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. For the past 4-5 months, I've been really sick...so a buddy of mine asked me if he could use my account to duo with his friend. Being the idiot I was, I let him log on and play not thinking of the consequences. Turns out, while he was playing with his friend, he had activated 3rd party scripts.

Thus, we are here today, with a permanent banned account for something I did not do. Was it my fault for letting him on my account? Yes. Should I receive a ban for account sharing? Definitely, seeing as how this must of created a negative experience for other players. But do I really deserve a permanent ban for something I did not do?

I contacted Riot support about this telling them the summoner name of the person who was on the account, and to even check IP addresses, yet he still runs free on his main account elo boosting and scripting while I am perma banned.

I've been a supporter of Riot for 5 years. With a clean ban history, and the amount of time I put into this account, I don't think a permanent ban is justified. Please if any Riot staff member could help me out... I really enjoyed playing this game..

Very sad, you know you broke the rules though. Honestly Riot is not going to reverse the decision. Make a new account and start over. I know that sucks, but that is really your only option.

riot is clear cut on account sharing, you can make another account to keep playing the game

Have your friend buy you everything back? lol

Oh well bro.

This may sound dickish but you broke the rules that were stated very clearly. Plus why would you let a "friend" use your account in the first place because you said that he has his own account... It just doesn't make since unless you were having him boost you or that you were doing the scripting and coming up with a way to try and get unbanned. Imo this is a justified ban all the way because there is no reason for another person to be on your account at all

It's like they didn't even check your history in case the account was hacked.

"so a buddy of mine asked me if he could use my account"

This and those threads where people go "my whole family died in a fire and I need Riot to respond to me :^)" are the worst ever

idk, I mean, you did break the rules and you'd deserve to be punished but a permanent ban? that seems a bit too harsh for a first time offense

I am sorry for your illness, however you did allow someone to use your account, That alone is viable for a Permaban since he was also doing Ranked on your account. Sorry my friend, a new account/Quit is the only way to go. you deserve the ban. But i am really sorry, hope things turn out better with your health.

Ouch! Never ever ever give your account info out. Ever.

I like how account sharing can warrant permanent bans.

But toxic players instigating suicide and the like are free to roam, with at worst a slap on the wrist and a long queue.

Sorry about your unfortunate circumstances. This is why I'm avoiding Riot like the plague and transitioning over to HotS.

I'd hate to say it but... You LET your friend borrow your account. Why the hell does he need YOUR account to duo with his own friend? He could have done that on his own account, and don't give me that tier crap because if they're not in the same rank/elo/whatever-the-heck then they shouldn't be playing ranked together, they can just play norms if they wanna play together.

YOU let him use your account, therefore you accepted ALL the risks of letting someone impersonate you and use your account for whatever the heck they wanted to. It's like letting a friend borrow your credit/debit card to do whatever he wants to do with it and then saying "Wait, I didn't do this, I let my friend use my card and he did this."

If your friend had STOLEN your account, gained access to it, or used it without your permission, that might have been a different story, but you let him use it and gave him the OK for it.

The only other loose end left here is the friendship between you two after this. If they've been a friend of yours for a LONG time, you might consider working something out with them on this. If they refuse to try to compensate you or if they're not really that close of a friend though, you might reconsider keeping them around if they really put you out of a some hundred or thousand dollars over them wanting to be a jerk and compromising your account over boosting their own crappy friend in a damn online game.

"Yeah, I had my serial killer friend go to my high school reunion in my stead. Sure, he has this history of stabbing people and being a general asshole, but I doubt he'd do anything under my name, right?"

Account sharing..... gg.

That person is not a friend if he used your account to elo boost and script. You should probably not associate with that person anymore. He screwed you over hard. How much was that account worth anyway? Couple hundred? Thousand? He owes you some cash bro.

" I let him log on and play" Rookie mistake OP

Scan the patient summary from your hospital stay to prove your admission and discharge dates. Send to support.

If you really think it is your friend's fault ( and this story is true ) then you can ask for RP to buy back what you lost. If he is someone that doesn't care about you, then I don' t understand why you would trust him in first place. This just serves as a lesson.

If by any chance you are minor or young adult and they start bullying you or refuse to provide compensation, you can ask for help from an authority figure such as parents.

Doesn't sound like a friend to me.

Well even if it's true what you said, that's I think a permabannable offense, you can look it up somewhere. Riot rarely makes mistake in such things as I witnessed countless times in the past.
