Not really, there are only 3 main colours (at least according to our eyes considering it's not strictly the property of light itself), rest are formed in mishmashing them in different combos.
EwokSoldier1 votesBreh check that one more time we aren't talking about tv's. The visible color spectrum google it. It has to do with wave lengths of light. Also the physics of rainbows are determined by how light passes through water droplets and our eyes can only detect certain wavelengths.

Yeah I get it's kinda only our eyes thing to identify the so called primary colours while the true visible light spectrum is just EM waves in different wavelengths.
But meh, internet arguments, gotta sway things at your favour with every chance you get. But really though it's not really 7 colour as well, it's also only our eyes interpret things that way.

My point was, indigo isn't really what we'd consider a "color of the rainbow" (I know this because there has never been an indigo marshmallow in Lucky Charms), rather people tend to view it as a shade of blue or violet, thus knocking the count down to 6.
You're completely right about the wavelength stuff.
