Hextech Blue Essence and IP

I know I am in the minority by owning all champions but it is frustrating just having 50k IP and lots of blue essence stacking up. I do not expect to be able to use them for skins or anything but I really would like to be able to gift my friends new champions even if cost something absurd like 10K+. As of now it is just a useless currency that builds up.
