Im going to start with 2 facts: You are at a severe disadvantage down a player. Even if a DC'd player comes back after resolving their issue, it is likely they cannot recover for the lost time.

I think that the game should replace the DC'd player and put a new summoner in control of their character. The new player would que specifically to join in progress games, and would not receive ladder points but would get a fair bonus in IP for helping out. The DC'd player would be barred from reentering after they've been replaced but can spectate the game or be locked out from playing for a time.

It would be hard for riot to do this i am sure but it would go a long way lessing the impact of disconnects on everyone's League experience.

I like the idea. I just played a 2v5, and did poorly b/c of the ganks..

An interesting idea. Could use a bit of tinkering to make sure people don't end up as champions they have never played before, or so people don't just use this as a way to get extra ip while being able to pick what they want to play, but it is a good concept. I know the game awesomenauts has a similar system, although it works a bit differently in that game since the teams are much less comp reliant and there isn't as much of a meta.

The idea is good but it's not realistic. One reason Riot won't do this is because they have to develop another whole system to balance the players skills. Riot doesn't want to waste their time on this kind of things. Your idea also will increase the time for other ongoing queue. Imagine every few seconds there are someone to replace the dc'ers. There could be thousands of people less in queue to start a new game. And how can you tell if the dc'ers are only reboot the game to solve some lagging issues?

good idea - will never happen. riot is too busy counting their money to make any big change like that.

You'd have to have only players with similar mmr replacing DC's, or else you would get this

Typical Bronze game:

"Hey retarded adc faggot, go afk so we can get a diamond 'insert adc' who isn't as worthless as you."
